Machine Washable Sofas

Is Your Sofa Qualified? Yes if...

  • The seat cushions are removable and zippered
  • The seat casings display codes “S”, “W” or “WS”
  • The fabric is not olor-fast (If it is, call MOD!)

If all applies, continue to:

1. Unzip & remove the cushion, turning the casings right-side-out.

2. Pre-treat stains. Wash casings in cold water & a light detergent.

3. Air dry. DO NOT put into the dryer.

4. Enjoy a sparkling sofa again!

Furniture Care Tips

Maintain Your Upholstery
  • Be sure you choose the right fabric for upholstery. Quality is key for furniture that will last a long time. Steer clear of fabrics manufactured for clothing or draperies.
  • Take care of stains immediately. Use a clean, dry, white cloth and blot – don’t rub!
  • Be careful when choosing cleaning solutions. If you have any doubts, contact us. Using the wrong solution can make stains permanent.
  • Direct sunlight can dramatically fade dark furniture. Place upholstered pieces where they won’t be exposed.
  • We recommend professionally cleaning your upholstered pieces every one to two years, depending on use.
Give Your Leather a Little Love

Sometimes it's the simplest things that make a big difference. Use a leather cleaning cream, such as Frye Leather Conditioning Cream, on a bi-weekly basis to nourish and maintain your leather furniture. The $9 you spend at the supermarket will save you thousands in the long run.

Conquer a Candle Wax Attack

Don’t snuff out your wood table after a candle wax attack. We’ve tried just about every technique, and found the one that works best:

  • Apply an ice cube on the affected area to harden the wax
  • Gently scrape the wax away using a credit card
  • Once you get to the final layer on the table, dab lemon oil on the scraped area and rub with a soft cloth to remove the wax residue!

Don't Get Down

Unbeknown to many, 100% down filling is not the ideal choice for your cushions or sofa seating. Feathers sink over time, leaving your cores flat and less comfortable. Leave 100% down to your bedroom, try a blend of 20% dacron and 80% down to keep your furniture cushions fluffy and one sweet seat.
